Something to remind me
"of the love she had for me"

Something to remind me

While walking in the garden
where many flowers grow,
I came upon the roses
she planted long ago.
And there with lifted spirit
through tear filled eyes I see,
so much to remind me of
the love she gave to me.
-
She loved it in the garden
for there she seemed to find,
the thing that she so needed
to give her peace of mind.
And there she found a fragrance
that only those can know,
who dare to spend a moment
where pretty flowers grow.
-
I never got to tell her
the way I know I should,
just how much she meant to me
oh God I wish I could.
But somehow I am certain
no matter what they say,
I'll meet her in the garden
again another day.
-
And there among the beauty
where pretty flowers grow,
she and I will talk again
of days of long ago.
And there I'll get to tell her
how I appreciate,
the little yellow roses
she planted by the gate.
