Rainblues
Not rainbows but rainblues

"Rainblues"

The rain paints streaks
on my window pane,
as I hear the whistle
of a distant train.

Flower lined sidewalks
stand soaking wet
waiting for sunshine
that hasn't come yet.

Restless and bored
in a familiar place,
my spirits so low;
not always the case.

Deep in thought
I roam, room to room,
mourning the day
I hum a sad tune.

My mood brightens
as the sun comes out,
the cure for a day
of shadows and doubt.

Of life, I've had a drink
a bittersweet taste
but I've new faith now
and life is not a waste.
