Tomorrow I’m taking the day off
It’s my little boy’s Birthday I didn’t want to miss it I said to myself “No Way”. Tomorrow he’ll be fourteen, For a cat that’s a great age; He’s my special little boy Tomorrow’s his special day. Tomorrow we’ll all celebrate With catnip cookies on a plate And can’s of tuna with whipped cream And perhaps some mouse pate. Tomorrow his friends will all come At the first site of dawn To ride in his little plane And to play upon the lawn Tomorrow will be so much fun For my special little guy It may be his last birthday I think with tears in my eyes But if it is his last Then let it his best be Come celebrate with us, “Happy Birthday, my sweet Tigee!” My sweet Tiger M crossed the Rainbow Bridge shortly after his birthday. Long live his memory. written for the poem per day challenge, March 10th, 2005
