NUMBERED DAYS
When a loved one is in bed, With no hope of getting out; When the days are but numbered, And the outcome not in doubt; When all the needles and tubes Are not treatment but torment; When assurances that “You Will be alright” get frequent; Then it is relatives and Friends stop almost in their track. They know for once that no more Their loved one will now be back! * Written in abcb 7-7-7-7 format. • Related poems: "FIVE FACES OF MARTHA: award winner" "NUMBERED DAYS" "AN IRONICAL LIFE" And, the following poems in the book "SCIENCE, MEDICAL, LAW, HUMOR, CHILDREN" DOCTORS, PATIENTS AND LAWYERS EUTHANASIA PATIENT’S V.
