BECKONING—a sonnet

Forever you’re engraved within my heart,
No one can separate us, me and you.
Death can no longer play villainous part.
For you I too will embrace death, it’s true.

Till I live, you will be with me always,
And when I quit this world we will be one.
We cannot understand God’s hidden ways.
It was ordained that what He willed be done.

True love transcends the barriers of this world;
We have been in communion all along.
Your soul is now free like a soaring bird,
To physical borders, you don’t belong.

My love, for me please wait in the heavens.
I won’t be late, Death’s angel now beckons.
