Twilight Lover

I seek you in the morning haze
that misty light between sunrise and night.
A warmth fills me when you appear
translucent, unattainable.

Reaching for you,
my fingers splayed
grasping for your heat
my hands return empty.

Never able to touch you
to feel your lips against mine
though the warmth of you
lingers on my skin.

At that mysterious moment
between night and day
I search for you
a luminous twilight ray of sun.
