It was love at first sight
On her birthday that night
When she opened the box that held me.
Ribbons tied in my hair,
A complexion so fair,
She displayed me for all to see.

I came with dresses,
Tools to clean up messes,
Everywhere she went, I did too
Whether climbing a tree,
Or chasing a bee,
There was nothing that we couldn’t do.

Then she started high school,
I guess that she was too cool,
To play with a porcelain doll like me.
My hair became tangled,
My arms and legs mangled,
Things weren’t the way they used to be.
*Flower6*
I was a silent reminder
Of the years that were behind her,
Her childhood, all 14 years.
So in an attic all musty,
I sit old and dusty,
Crying my porcelain tears.
