Straying The one good thing in my life, I got free, no strings attached. Not a husband, child or wife; Only me, being alive. Life's a gamble of high stake, For it can be snatched away. Misjudging it is a mistake, Realized when you face death. Life is but a narrow trail; Stray off it and be condemned. You might find yourself in jail, Throwing your good days away. In worst times, deep in despair, I cling to my existence. Back to the path in a rush, I used lots of assistance. The one good thing in my life, Mine to shape and mold. I'll never stray off the path, And be left out in the cold. April 2005 ©
