Straying

The one good thing in my life,
I got free, no strings attached.
Not a husband, child or wife;
Only me, being alive.

Life's a gamble of high stake,
For it can be snatched away.
Misjudging it is a mistake,
Realized when you face death.

Life is but a narrow trail;
Stray off it and be condemned.
You might find yourself in jail,
Throwing your good days away.

In worst times, deep in despair,
I cling to my existence.
Back to the path in a rush,
I used lots of assistance.

The one good thing in my life,
Mine to shape and mold.
I'll never stray off the path,
And be left out in the cold.
