Smile For Ireland
I entered this for a contest on Writing.com about Irish pride.

We watch the leaves fall from the enchanted trees like stars,
Wind whispering our name,
As we dance in the mist.

Here in the wood that taught us to dance.
The country that taught us to sing, to laugh, to see and to feel,
Our heads sway backwards,
The green grass engulfing our toes,
As my copper hair falls down my back.

Your blue eyes dance to themselves,
Relflecting the sky,
Onto my pale skin.
A dusty path lies in front of us,
Leading to where only the Irish know.

We smile and sing to beautiful music whistling from the trees,
Can you feel the grass growing?
Our meadow falls as mystical land,
In front of our face.

Here we are,
Where time stops,
Where laughing cures our deepest troubles.
Smile with me,
And smile for Ireland
