It's hard to write
to right a wrong, It hurts to sing an honest song, I'll write this before I digress, I'll sing these words for your distress. I'm sorry that I'm always cold, I know your heart is mine to hold, I'm sorry, I can't give you mine, But you can touch it for all time. My heart is empty; it has holes, Through which all my feelings flow Onto the floor and down the drain, Rinsed clean by the crystal rain. My body is nothing but my shell, You may say I wear it well, My soul, locked in a sludgy maze, It can't be touched by your loves rays. The reason I can't let you in? A fortress lies beneath my skin, And I am always in the dark, Though slightly warmed by your love's spark.
