She's Not A Run Away Child She took her pictures Down from the wall Wrapped her ornaments Both the big and small Opened her dresser Cleaned out the drawers She was leaving home That was for sure Yanked down her clothes Left the hangers hang Grabbed her back pack Threw in books with a bang Went to the bath collecting Her make up and such Putting them in her purse With a trembling touch Looking at her luggage She wondered how to take it all God she really can’t believe She and her Mom had a brawl She peered out the window And seen it’s dark outside She needed to go to the yard To find the place she could hide She will not take back The words that were said And the words of her Mom Still ran through her head She wiped away a tear As she started to cry And though she is riled She's not a runaway child.
