She sits at her window
Grooming lavender fur, And she looks up wondering When he will return to her? Beautiful, brave sad hero, He left with the dawn, When will he return? He’s been gone too long. Teardrops fill her eyes, But she must be brave, Her hero, will he die For their lives to save? She prays to great Bastet, Praying for his life, He promised he would make her His queen and his wife; The fleet returned a week ago But his ship was lost, The home world will live on But her love was lost. The kitt she carries within her Will never know his dad, His father, the hero, And that is why she’s sad, For her brave young lover Will walk this world no more Now he leaves his pawprints On a distant shore, Now he reigns, but sadly In a land at rainbow’s edge, Now he dwells eternally At the Rainbow Bridge. How she longs to follow him, Her will to live is gone, Her only wish, to be with him, But she must be strong, She is the Makreela, And she must live on, But her heart is breaking And silenced is her song. Translated by Mimeenah Roshan Felinidaes Makreela Head Historian Catuary-By-The-Sea
