A devil came up from Texas After bankrupting the Lone Star State, Folks, give this devil his due. Next he's in your house Of the rising sun Stealing your savings & future too! Feigning praying in Church Oh, that devil came into D C Then picked up a broom And said: I'm doing some sweeping I'm actually fat with sins, Quite greedy, I need me ALL the room! da da da ... da da da ... When he picked up his mighty broom Civil rights went in the dust pan On the way to the trash bin You know damn well he got That thur Patriot Act Because of bin Laden .... Oh Oh OH! Outside the Oval Office, On the way out the door, That Devil down in Washington, Stands to take even more ... OH OH OH! With discontent of a harlequin, Jealous of the courage of the fightin men (and women) He decides to start a major, Catastrophic War! A War! Key-rye-iced sakes! A bloody WAR! Oh, oh, oh ... Killing many a soldier, Enlisted at the time, Maiming some 6,000 more. Nowhere to hide from orders No place to run, son. Enter Mr. Halliburton To sweep out scores Of honest fightin men, Allow Dump-the-Rump Rummy to not Equip the troops In a terrible unjust war Oh, oh, oh ... Now the devil down in D C Took a firm grip on his historic broom. Eyed with incompetent envy Our gallant sons and daughters Who in their right mind has nerve To ask for anything more? During a mismanaged, catalytic war? Look away little children, Hide your eyes moms & dads for The devil down in Washington Vows to again line his coffers, He intends to up the score. We're the ones, he's after Your money or your life Intent on society, Our country, Our past liberty. This devil down in DC Wants more and more and more. Sweep, sweeep, sweeep! No, maybe you don't think so? Please do yourself a favor Ask farmers, ask labor. Ask the military, Ask the Navy Who know this greedy bastard. Same guy, tax free media moguls Laud as their creative Christian savior. Now you can write it down. Read his lips. That devil raves each day His plans are plain to see, Causing all the fuss. He's wielding the broom from Hades! Run boys, run girls run To the closest protest bus. Hawking snidey, interior changes, Newspapers & TV wear us ragged. The devil wants his way.
