I COULD SEE IT COMING



I could well see it coming.
I could almost predict that
One day our love, soaring high,
Would fall on the ground just flat.

Oh, but those soaring moments,
When we glided through the clouds,
Had no place for painful thought,
Or for any nagging doubt.

I knew those who fly too high
Must hit hardest rock one day.
Reality must prevail,
Dreams can’t always have their say.

Prediction was not that hard,
Hard is this reality:
That after love is shatterd,
Which is but a certainty,

I am heart broken though I
Saw it all clearly coming!
Utter gloom is now my lot
My life is without meaning.
