As We Pray

Isn’t it funny how we can stop and pray
When we want things to go our way
Or if things are all going wrong
How quick we pray that we be strong

But do we pray about the little things
Like the songs different birds sing
A smile from a small little child
Or a nod from flowers growing wild

What about the bright morning sun
Squirrels and chipmunks having fun
Long grass blowing freely in the wind
Or for having family and good friends

Do we stop and say a word of prayer
For everything God gives in our care
Do we share everything that comes our way
With our Creator when we kneel to pray?

There are so many types of prayers to pray
But God likes them in various ways
Prayer of thanks, pain, happiness and love
God wants us to share them with Him up above

A prayer is anything we take the time to say
To our heavenly Father on any given day
A few words of appreciation we can convey
To our Creator as we kneel to pray
