Three Strikes

Why did you call her
In the middle of the night?
You’re with me now,
You had no right!

You didn’t even tell me
You played it off well.
I would not have known
But the phone bill did tell.

This isn’t the first time
No, you’ve done this before.
Kept insisting you loved me,
You’d see her no more.

Through dozens of calls
I believed what you told.
Again, I’m tongue-tied,
Your actions so bold.

Get on home, hurry up
Sit down, let’s talk.
I’m thinking its time
You go for a long walk.

Off a short pier …

Background: I wrote this in anger. This is the night I decided I wanted a divorce. Imagine that. Actually, I laugh everytime I read it now. The end is choppy but the laughs are worth it. hehe
