Thorns of Desire I poured deep the sweet claret of desire Into the desperate chalice of loneliness Only to find an opiated emotionless void Lying in the bottom, a cerise scored vein Coated vermilion by past serrated thorns I reached beneath to find your soul Drew out the garnet buried below I brought the beautiful gem to my lips Whispered endearments to crimson facets Warmed with carmine heated sentiment I felt the bittersweet blush Knew the cardinal awareness The titillation of every heated edge And flaming sensuality probed Beautiful sanguine rose petals Caused sweet conflagration A momentary keen blaze Reduced then to a heated coal Remained glowing deep burgundy Waiting for another heated breath 4/28/05
