The little girl
Some where in this hectic life of mine...

Somewhere in this hectic life of mine
I gently asked the little girl to stay behind.
I knew it brought her sadness
when I left her there that day
in her heart the little girl knew,
I would not be back to play.
I don't know when it happened
the coming I tried to stop
When I was she and she was me
change I knew it not.
"Promise to remember me.
Don't forget!" her little heart spoke
I'm amazed at the memories
that the little girl's words evoked.
In the darkness of my room filled
with moon beams, day dreams, and sky
I had not forgotten the little girl
I remembered with a sigh.
