Unspoken
We dream of the unattainable...

We dream of the unattainable.
We dream of fame and glory
but deep in this dreamless night
you'll not hear a successor's story.
I'm merely the unspoken Voice
of the "Should haves", "Could haves" and "Mights"
the things that you wish you would have said
when-in the heat of the moment-your heart fights.
I'm the Thing you stopped from saying
to save face, yourself, and pride.
The Thing that might have saved your heart
if you had finally stood and said, not hide.
What your heart screamed in the silence
what your mind longed to perform.
But for that one instant, that moment in time
your lips could not form.
The words that held surrender
when the swords were drawn and the chips were down
the Thing you might have finally said,
if the right words had been found.
