Ode to the Raisins that Move
A cockroach poem written for a challenge in the WDC Poetry RAW contest

Upon the bright and early morning
When suddenly without a warning
There, in my bowl, under the milky span,
My cornflakes look like Raisin Bran.

Then at noon, inside my lunch,
My peanut butter has got a crunch.
Underneath my fluffy Wonder bread,
What do I find? That's right, a head.

At suppertime, upon the eve,
Suddenly I gag and heave.
When in my salmon, oh so poached,
He's crawling there! I've been roached!
