Last Caress
Some things were meant to last....

It was early,
Yet, I was awake.
Listening to her breathing.

A tear drop fell
While the rising sun
Reflected her golden hair.

I was all packed
To leave for my new life.
One she wouldn't be a part of.

Her blue eyes opened
And she smiled wide for me
As I caressed her silky skin.

I reached for her.
Desperation took control
And we loved one last time.

One last caress.
One ultimate hug.
One final moment to share.

The plane took off
I cherished the last caress
Forever entwined in memory's soul.
