A Father's Love
Forgive me child, I did not know, How your father loved you so. How he stole your dreams away, No more childhood, No more play. Forgive me child, I did not sense, Your father's love was just pretence. How he made you feel inside, When he raped you, When he lied. Forgive me child, I did not feel, What your father made so real. How at night you lay in wait, Questioned goodness, Questioned fate. Forgive me child, I did not see, What your father did to thee. How he made you live apart, Broke your body, Broke your heart. Forgive me child, I did not hear, "Girl still missing, worst now feared." Secrets buried in the ground, "Man arrested, Body found."
