Deadline
Anxiously writing to meet a deadline.

Empty pages
stare up at me.
How can I fill them?
What should they be?

Tension builds
as the deadline nears.
Nothing to say,
a writer's worst fears.

Sweaty palms
leave marks on the page.
I should have more,
something wonderous and sage.

Lesson learned.
The deadline has passed.
Maybe next time,
I won't do this half-assed.
