Poetry does so much
To sooth the soul And heal the mind. Why is it ...then... The most powerful emotions slip quietly past my pen? Why is it ...then... This torrent of tears barely wets the page? Why is it ...then... This fearhurtlovehate Can't be read in these words? Poetry is the trap I lay To catch my emotions To rip them from my soul Leaving me unhurt and still. And still, I cannot capture the truest emotions No matter what I try. Fearlovehurthate They stay with me still. And still, I write.
