Verdant Spirit
The First Installment in my first Poetry Series.

The cool wind blew a soft breeze.
I waited for you among the trees.
You said to me you wouldn't leave
But you have gone and left me alone.

I always hoped that you could be there
Pretending that time would make you care.
It never happened so all that remains
Are shards of a person you destroyed.

In the warm earth's tomb I slept,
Shattered by an oath you never kept.
My wounds aren't able to heal
Until there came a spirit.

I could feel the soothing rain,
It gave solace to my pain.
Your presence is a wonder.
You will be my new hope.

The gentle waters enraptured me
And light shone through the canopy.
I will take another chance
To turn my face towards the sun.

Verdant spirit do not deceive me.
This cannot falter,
My strength retreats within.
Carry me through the forest,
Protect me from my fears,
Or abandon me in tears.
