MOUNTAINS
Mountains tall and sparkling white, Talking to the skies; In day time you are so bright, Dazzling to the eyes! When dark, you stand like giants In a gray attire. Even from a distance you Instant awe inspire. Lightning, thunder, hurricanes, Earthquakes come and go. You are always firm and staunch, Rooted in earth so! You are like a bridge between The earth and the sky Your majesty, both of them, Does truly defy. Covered with pristine snow pure, Not a spec of dust. You are His own creation. Bow to you one must. * Written in abcb 7-5-7-5 format • Awarded third prize in the (now deleted) contest "Show Me Your Poetry & Win!", "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 11 May 2005
