Atomic Fire

After the first A-bomb
the desert was littered
with green glass shards.
Sand, fire-fused by colliding particles.

After the first A-bomb
the body politic shattered
like glass.
The world littered
with fierce, jagged edges.
Our fears, fire-fused by colliding idealogies.
