Two of Hearts

There is no love,
without proof of love.
And yes, your proofs come daily,
elegant and spare.
They come when you are stroking my hair,
or making me fall to my knees,
so weak with passion,
I cannot stand.

We are of two hearts and one twin soul.

It is concrete acts
that enter our souls.
The everyday kindness of morning coffee.
Your nighttime knowing of
"just where it hurts".

We are of two hearts and one twin soul.
A pairing of opposites,
a proving of a theorem,
there is no love,
without proof of love.
