The sun gently rises. Birds chirp hello. My cat jumps on my head and purrs.
“Leave me alone, Pepe.”
Feed the cat, fill my coffee cup, take a couple sips. I’m starting to feel better. Check my e-mail, sip more coffee, think about what to wear. Try to remember the dreams I had, so I can write them in my blog. Wonder if anyone reads my blog. Wonder why I wonder if anyone reads my blog.
Take a shower, shape a Mohawk out of my wet hair, smirk in the mirror. Put on “work clothes,” decide they aren’t “good enough,” change a few times before settling with the first outfit. I’ll get nicer clothes one day.
Put bread in toaster, decide to put peanut butter on toast instead of butter, because even though peanut butter has more fat, it also has more protein. Try to find leftovers in the fridge to have for lunch. Decide leftovers are too old, make peanut butter and jelly sandwich, promise to buy some fruit to have with lunch tomorrow. Eat toast while solving daily crossword puzzle on jigzone.com.
Put gel in hair, carefully style for 10 minutes, trying to perfect the “messy” look. Apply make up, brush and floss teeth, spray perfume that I promised to wear every day because it is too expensive to let it sit on the counter unused.
Clean litter box, wash hands, fill water bottle, promise that I’ll drink the whole 32 ounces today. Whisper, “See you later, buddy” to the cat, don’t forget to lock the door.
