Forever Love Is All I Ask
by Marilyn Mackenzie
February 14, 2005

Once upon a yesteryear
There was a me and you.
Your life had lots of strife and pain,
And I was often blue.

Came the day we met online,
Shared lives and offered advice,
Never seeing more could be
If we just paid the price.

Too high the price, it was for me;
I loved the sun and sand.
I never thought of moving north
Where I could hold your hand.

So we were friends - just - from afar
Till fate stepped in, it seems,
Dashing plans we already had,
Opened our eyes to new dreams.

Now our guardian angels smile
Down from heaven above.
I think they orchestrated
Our new and forever love.

Forever love is all I ask,
Eternity in your arms,
Laughing daily at your jokes,
Enraptured with your charms.

Though life may offer ups and downs,
Though troubles may come our way,
As long as you are by my side,
I know I'll get through each day.

Every day with you, my dear
Will be both fresh and new,
Sharing simple lives and love,
And whispering, "I love you."

Those guardian angels surely do
Celebrate from above.
'Cause I have never been so sure
Or been so much in love.

Our golden years aren't far away,
We're coming to the winter of life.
But we'll survive and even stay young,
As we giggle as husband and wife.
