FEATHER-BRAINED FUGITIVE

** #976055 Not An Image **

I'm hiding out, for don't you see
that if the humans find out it's ME
who ate the bird and left a feather,
I'll get hit with a belt made of leather!

They'll never guess in a million years
that I was the one who caused the tears
of the lady who loved the bird so much
cautioning me many times "DON'T TOUCH!"

I'll play it cool and watch them look
for "that darn cat" who probably took
advantage of that little yellow bird;
(knowing ME that well is quite Absurd!)

Oh NO! They've spotted me, I think!
My eyes grow big and I try to slink
off in this bag - I WANT TO LIVE!
I'm just a feather-brained FUGITIVE!

Now it's just nature for a cat like me
to watch the birds fly about, real free!
A tasty snack, a tasty morsel indeed,
It's just a very tantalizing feed!

"YOU IN THE BAG!" I hear them shout -
and somehow I find a quick way OUT;
Off I run and I won't soon get caught
until they FORGIVE ME, like it or not...

A bird has but one life, I have nine-
and I've about used up all my time...
I trip on the bag and feel some pain
I must admit I'm just a feather-brain!

Out in the cold and its dark at night,
I really wish I could make things right;
What's THIS? A saucer of milk for ME?
They love me, too? They forgive, I see!
