Looking out the window,
Past the rolling hills She dreams of being another, Another girl, in another place. Where she has no fear. Nothing to make her heart race. Nothing to make her skin curl. What if she wasn't a good girl? She wishes she wasn't. She prays that she will have the power to explore To be bold, and try something new. Something dangerous, crazy, out of this world. Her insides tell her no. But curiosity takes hold. Say goodbye to miss innocent. Her new live begins to unfold. She gets lost in a world of parties, Doing anything to get high, Or to feel her blood, rushing through her veins. Her heart pumps faster, Until the beat makes her chest ache. She falls into a restless sleep. Hiding her prize in a chap stick container. Hiding herself under a lace dress She's learning to live, like she never had before This time she went too far. Her thoughts are drowned out, By a siren, Screaming in her ear, Rushing up her driveway, For all the world to hear. Her mom's tears take hold of her. She wants to wake up from this dream. It's not a dream though, it's reality, her life. It's going to be another struggle. She is going to be ok.
