Light-Speed & M. Space
Can I exceed Light-speed without getting a ticket?

Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity always bothered me. As a Science-Fiction writer, I always looked over my shoulder each time I broke the light-speed law. The physics police were bound to catch me sooner or later.
Poor Albert however, knew his theory had holes in it; it couldn’t explain ‘everything’. He spent the rest of his life looking for a ‘unified theory of everything’, but never found it.
He came close…closer than he knew. His simplified representation of the universe, looked like a rubber sheet with the stars forming dimples, or gravity wells. The larger the star, the deeper the well.

Then came the ‘String’ theory. The universe made up, and held together, by vibrating strings of energy. All twisting around and vibrating on different frequencies.
But still, it didn’t explain ‘everything’. And to make matters worse, the string theory had to have five, then seven, and finally ten dimensions before it would work. And still, it didn’t explain ‘everything’.

Now the 'Membrane' theory pops up. (you just can’t keep those theroticians happy) The M. theory is new, and ‘almost’ explains everything…but not quite.
Also, the M. theory predicts an infinite number of universes…think of thin membranes of energy, undulating like bed-sheets on a wash-line…(‘infinite'? That’s a bunch of universes; each with its own physical laws…wow--a Sci-Fi writer's dream)
Reality raised its ugly head again. M. space needed an eleventh dimension.
On top of the tenth dimension,‘Time’. Time as a substance rather than a concept…The eleventh, "Super-Gravity'..WaLa…it explained EVERYTHING. From the Big-Bang, to where all that gravimetric force, that seemed to have disappeared, went. To be strong enough to hold ‘our universe’ together, gravity needs to be a lot stronger. The question was, where did the excess go?

Everything seems to have a constant…even the Fahrenheit and Celsius thermometers read the same at –40 deg. Gravity seems to be a constant, bleeding across the Membranes as it seeks the shortest route between the stars. So now I can exceed the speed of light without getting a ticket from the physics police. All my guys have to do is surround themselves with Anti-Gravity, and pop out of this universe, then pop back in by another star. ( if there’s gravity, there must be anti-grav.)

NOTE…When a small spot on one membrane touches another, like matter and anti-matter, they annihilate each other with a huge gamma-ray burst. Astronomers have been seeing random bursts for years, but had no idea what caused them.
