REMEMBERED

"patty ann"
"patty ann"
I hear my mother calling
across the uterine divide of
time and space.
"patty ann, come soon, come today."

"patty ann"
"patty ann"
I sense my grandmother seeking
through placental portals of
translinear light.
"patty ann, come now, come and pray."

"patty ann"
"patty ann"
I dream my newborn, futureborn,
grandbabies, whispering
through salty, conductive, amniotic seas.
"patty ann, come now, come and play."

And for them all,
I pour cupfuls of stories.
and know that I am blessed,
to be called and remembered

"patty ann, full of grace."
