I REMEMBER

I REMEMBER

Soft winds blow above the stones
as a gentle rain begins to fall,
and nature, with its many blessings,
offers peace and comfort to us all.

Below the earth my family sleeps,
each one taken in God's own time;
I remember each as once they were
when life was theirs in which to shine.

Each name engraved upon the stones
is a memorial that will always last,
stirring a memory of all the yesterdays
as I stop and look back at the past.
