Heaven is Green

Should you ask what color is heaven,
Wangari Maathai's voice
would sing out, It is green,
green as the jungle,
green as the rain
green as the carpet
of new-planted African trees.
Green is God's nature
She would explain,
I come not to make history,
I come as a butterfly
to teach
that heaven is green.
