Late one night as we lay talking, a shooting star flew in my window. This presence, beauty unannounced, hung bright and burning in the air. An intense light left us naked and tore apart our hidden dreams. No shadows were there between us, no dark corners where we could hide. Transformed, the people that we were became more elemental creatures. Then were born again in wonder and carried to a rainbow sky. Separate from the world below us, we soared and flew up to the Heavens. To gaze in wonder at the Earth, seen differently from this perspective. Pulled along at lightening speed, we had no pause to think or fear. Incandescent light consumed us and radiated through our bodies until we screamed 'Enough'. We were released, to fall back down to earth, limp and breathless upon my bed, unsure of what had happened. The world can never be the same, once you have learned to touch the stars.
