Each Kiss
Follow me to heaven

Who’d have thought
that my heart could be big enough
to hold yours inside?
But it's true,
I will gather you up
and take you to the sky.

We can experience the world through our toes,
squishing the gritty, cold sand
as we race the tide.
The moonlight will spill over us,
leaving a slick, silvered mess,
and as we lay on our backs
we will glare and whisper at Venus,
wondering if she actually expects us
to clean up after her.

Our love will dissolve the night,
poking holes in the deep blue canvas above
allowing light to peer through.
Astrologers everywhere would call them stars,
but we would know the truth.
We would know that with every first kiss
a new "star" appears.
That each kiss,
slowly but surely,
creates a path to heaven.
