Eyes shine in the night
their diamond bright radiance
scattered by the desert shower.

It’s the monsoon season,
sudden downpours are expected
by everyone
except the tourist
who seem surprised that it rains
in Las Vegas.

Starlight through dark nebula
defused by the dust of unborn planets
sparkle through the interstellar medium.
