Where iguanas rule
The baskets hung by the post between the rounded windows. Serapes adorned the stucco walls as the chimney reached 2 floors up, past the masks and mirrors on either side. Giraffes in wooden splendor guarded the fire like sphinx, portal to the heat and flame that warmed us from its pedestal. We sat and felt its glow that winter day, that was banished in that special place where iguanas rule. Kåre Enga 6 februar 2004 Tahlequah, OK. Note: Someday this will be part of a coffeehouse series. It was written at the Iguana Cafée in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
