I sadly yearn the days of old,
Your radiant smile fills the skies. One brief space in time passes, Bitter tears form in my eyes. The dew-kissed flowers thrive, A rippling stream peacefully flows. Those ancient days cannot be, Your eyes tender light made our love grow. The sighing winds blow in my face, Bull moonlight reveals the way. Our eternal bond was severed, Leaving my heart a haunting grey. I stop a moment to reflect, The many memories of lost days. Our nights beneath the starlit canopy, Peacefully sleeping always. The look of crystal in your eyes, The touch of your willing hands. I have tasted beauty’s elixir, For you I’d travel many lands. A silhouette of your beauty, Lingers still within my dreams. A vision of you and I, A perfect reflection, so it seems. And while young couples sing and dance, I am left with lonely thoughts. A forever brooding quietude, Without you now my heart does rot.
