Sixteen Candles
A dark poem of hiding from the evil that preys on our souls

Sixteen Candles

Sixteen candles burn so bright
Masking the darkness with blinding light
Singeing shadows dance in decay
As long lost dreams are torched away
No fears escape the burning flame
Here sacred thoughts and screams amount to the same
We cry with our tears of salty sweat
In the light where Hell’s Angels bled with regret
So lost are we, seek hope in the night
Can our ravaged souls survive this self inflicted plight
Beaten torn and dragged away
Behind blazing shadows forever we'll stay
Praying unto the fire to guide our path
To save our soul from demon’s wrath
