But, When You Said
We make decisions together, or I thought we did.

When You Don't Remember What You Said

You pull the floor out from under me.
I stand aghast, falling to my knee.
I cringe and shudder, for what is this hex?
If you move the earth,
The sky's bound to be next.

How do I find the way to act
Outside this emotional bubble?
Insulated from rational thinking,
In only a state flooded by trouble.

You rip the ground away,
With your loving best intentions.
How do I stand my stead,
And weigh both our parts,
With some balance of equity
We can both have at the start.

There's you, and there's me.
We need to help each other,
Without me, giving up what
I'm destined to be.
But, you hold all the keys.
