Love Hurts

We all grow up wanting to find love
A love that will be put high above
A true love that you would die for
The perfect mate that would make our hearts soar


After many failed relationships over the years
Always looking for one that was sincere
Looking for our true soul mate
Always thinking that is the only way our lives will be validated


Is there really such a thing as your soul mate?
Or is that just a myth told to the young as bait?
No matter how close you are to someone
Love will bring you pain before it is done


Love hurts people everyday
Love hurts as our mates stray
Love hurts when we are betrayed
Love hurts as it starts to decay.
