LUNCH TIME IMAGES
I went and sat in the square today On my lunch hour, I sat on the bricks and just Watched people. I saw a biker Eating his lunch in the wind, His bike all packed And his back-pack packed with Traveling 'things'. I watched a man with a walker Going through the trash, He had his 'bag' And he looked cold. I saw a whole passle of kids All dressed in red, They were about 3 or 4 Could have been twins Except for the different colors. I heard sounds Of clicking heels And winter coats swishing In the wind. I heard foreign languages And laughter And arguing And children crying. I watched the birds Flying above me, And on I sat Watching. It was cold The wind was blowing, The people hurried As if they had somewhere To go. Sharon Marsh
