The Mystic’s Confession

The splendor of Earth’s daylight star paled
before the glory of my Beloved,
while the beauty of His countenance
put the grandeur of snow capped peaks to shame.

So in the light of evening, I called to Him
supplicating the mercy of His presence,
and my words become the clouds that separated
His orb into a thousand names and images.
