beautiful lies
fear of fairytales

I have always been afraid of fairytale endings.
Rainbows of shimmering gold,
Tainted by ominous storm clouds.

Pristine princesses in distress,
their naked cries are beacons,
to which noble knights must answer.

Drops of sinister rain fall desperately
On blissful scenes of joy,
Shattering perfect brilliance.

Just on the edge of perfection,
Crouched and waiting,
Are lies and deception.

I don’t believe in fairytale endings,
I won’t lend faith to the fiction.
