My love is to show you love
Dreams are a stage play where our spirits do not know
Saying, "I love you" is only the musical prelude.
The physical longings I feel as a woman
Connect me to the hearts of men
The signal, like a slow pulse on tambla, and
The feedback, a ripple of vocal melody.
I lose visual acuity — led to shut my eyes
Laughter, even smiles can be heard that much clearer
I long only for sound and sensation.
The scope of this hunger overwhelms thought
I crave making circles of our arms
Knots of our knees and hips, shoulders and fingers.
Hold the essential truth of all love in my own mind
Cradle your face, look love in the eye —
Whisper, "You too are love."
Your love is to show me love
So the dance circles in subconscious and soul
You are as dreamed, as felt — finally heard.
