Elusive
A poem about someone I thought was beyond my reach a long time ago.

Elusive

Another sleepless, misty night,
as I wander through the town.
My aching heart will burst, it seems;
for a girl with eyes of brown.

I gazed upon a perfect angel
as she walked on down the street.
A siren of surreal dreams,
for it's her I long to meet!

I've seen her only once before,
she smiled and passed me by.
The epitome of beauty graced,
raven hair that caught my eye.

I see the fluid way she walks
and the sparkle in those eyes
as shadows fall across my room,
here at home in bed I sigh.

For now I'll walk alone at night
with the allure of her kiss.
dreaming of my dark haired girl,
eyes elusive in the mist.
