Annihilation
You can't annihilate the truth.

My outlook on life is changing
I'm constantly rearranging
Not only how I look at things
But how much love the future brings

It's true, when you seek you will find
It's better than losing your mind
There are friends to be had out there
I am becoming more aware

The friendships I sought in the past
Were not really ones that would last
For I didn't know who I was
Don't really know why, just because

I was whomever you wanted
My disposition was daunted
I'd change at the drop of a hat
If I liked you, I'd copycat

But, now I'm just being my self
I have to be true now or else
I couldn't live in my own skin
I would hate myself from within

You cant' please everyone, it's true
The one you have to please is you
Nobody else can even see
The truth that lies inside of me

To thine own self, be true, is true
If you're not true you will be blue
Nobody else can hold the key
The keys are in you, and in me

We each have to reach deep inside
Where our innermost thoughts can hide
Only then can we really see
What it's like to be truly free

There's enough pretense in the world
Especially in the business world
When we're honest with each other
It opens the door for another

Someone who feels left out and cold
He comes in and joins in the fold
We can only be what we are
We can only shine our own star

Why do we put on all these masks
Not answering when a friend asks
Why do we avoid each other
And then lie to our own mother

Why can't we be honest at all
Because our high egos would fall
All that would be left is a frame
Naked as the day when it came

Into this place of deception
So we put on a reception
To welcome each one's arrival
Does this ensure our survival

If we don't start looking at truth
We'll be considered as uncouth
Our civilization won't last
What's so civil about war's blast

We better stop now, while we're ahead
If we don't, the future is dread
We're going to blow up this place
Annihilate the whole human race
